the joy formidable return with their largest body of work to date, 'a balloon called moaning'. it's an 8 ytrack cd housed in a stylish poster sleeve and self released. containing the singles 'austere' and 'cradle', it's a defiantly optimistic record that takes you on a journey through much light and darkness. lead singer and guitarist ritzy bryan coos and snarls in equal measures as pathos and triumph struggle and guitars come in waves seething with divine choral harmonies. it's the band's literate response to a climate of woefulness, a look to the future and a brilliant life affirming burst, the sound of a band hitting their stride. if you love the breeders, 'warehouse' era hsker du or belly then this is for you.....release date: 09/03/2009
