spinnerette marks the return of distillers front woman brody dalle to the music game, this time backed by tony bevilacqua from her previous group as well alain johannes of queens of the stone age and jack irons of the red hot chili peppers and pearl jam. spinnerette marks a continued departure from dalle's punk roots, as the songs are closer to eighties glam with touches of electronica. that said, though, brody most certainly hasn't lost her edge. she might be singing, rather than growling a whole lot more but the trademark chugging guitars are all present and correct.
