tel aviv's monotonix are the people's band. touring for the majority of the 365 days in a year, they have found their way into some of the most musically undernourished communities the world over, satisfying their eyes and ears (and hunger for sweaty hairy bodies). monotonix settled down for two months in louisiana to write their first full-length lp, 'where were you when it happened?'. formed during a sabbatical in midtown new orleans, a neighbourhood pummeled by hurricane katrina. perhaps the the nola environs influences the raw and dirty energy this record possesses.
