english indie heroes the wave pictures release their new 6 track ep 'sweetheart'. the ep focusses on love and romance. typical of the band, the material is rich in observation with the frequently confessional lyrics dominated by an acerbic sense of humour. containing just six tracks, the ep is a bite sized document which stands as a great introduction into the imagination of the wave pictures. the trio have shrouded their songwriting in a warm crackle, resulting in one of their most coherent statements yet.
