'The Elektrik Karousel' is the new album from The Focus Group, the alias of Ghost Box honcho Julian House. His most sonically rich and enjoyable, psychedelically involving record to date, it's an evolution of the cut up experiments of his earlier work. Collaborating with Broadcast on much of this record, 'Elektrik Karousel' becomes more a study in fuzz guitar and interwoven sampling, invoking a landscape pitched somewhere between a fish-eyed lens view of Swinging London and a dark, dystopian future where nothing is certain.
