The Hidden Cameras - Age

Review by Dom Gourlay

AGE doesn't quite equal the consistency of The Smell Of Our Own or Awoo but is a welcome return for one of this century's finest songwriting collectives.»

'Age' is gay church folk band The Hidden Cameras first new album since 2009's 'Origin:Orphan'. Hidden Cameras were actually the first Canadian band to sign to the Rough Trade label way back when. The new album is released on the Evil Evil / Rar label. The music on the album is almost as diverse as the themes the lyrics touch upon. The small string section featured gives AGE the support it needs to sound as confident as it does on the album. Each song is like a miniature symphony but with a pinch of pop rock.
