Zola Jesus - Taiga
A wasted opportunity.»

Nika Roza Danilova, aka Zola Jesus releases new album 'Taiga', the follow-up to 2011's excellent 'Conatus'.
The album was written on Vashon Island, Washington, and co-produced in Los Angeles by Dean Hurley (David Lynch, Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse). On much of 'Taiga,' Danilova sounds as if she also has something to conquer: the album's 11 songs are marked by wide-ranging synthesizers, twitchy percussion and vocals more crisply rendered than anything Zola Jesus has previously released.
